There are plenty of Google Meet attendance trackers out there.
Some are great, and some.... are terrible.
But which one is the best?
I tested 8 different attendance tracking extensions to find the best Google Meet attendance trackers in 2025.
I've investigated their pros & cons, so you can decide for yourself which extension you want to use to track attendance in Google Meet.
Best all-rounder Google Meet attendance tracker.
Rating: 4.8/5 ★★★★★ on the Chrome Web Store
The AttendList Chrome extension is the best Google Meet attendance tracker I've tested, although I may be biased.
Overall, AttendList is the best Google Meet attendance tracker I tested.
It's reliable and recorded attendance automatically on the first try. It's also got handy features like automatic recording, a timeline for each attendee, and spreadsheet export.
While it's still a new extension, don't let that stop you from giving AttendList a try.
AttendList is full of handy features that make attendance tracking easy:
The AttendList homepage.
While I may be a little biased (I'm the AttendList developer!), after testing all these other extensions, I truly believe AttendList is the best Google Meet attendance tracker in 2025.
To use the words of an AttendList user:
Super easy to set up, very clean and modern UI. And this one actually works really well! — Miguel, 2025 (via Chrome Web Store reviews)
Unlike most of the other extensions available, AttendList is built with reliability and ease-of-use in mind, so you can start tracking your Google Meet attendance easily.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Easy of use & reliability — AttendList is easy to get started with, and reliably tracks all your meeting attendance. | Still a new extension — AttendList is relatively new, so its user base isn't huge. |
Automatic attendance tracking — track full attendance automatically with the extension, even if you join the meeting late. | |
Spreadsheet export — export an attendance spreadsheet in 1 click. |
Popular extension, but buggy & unreliable.

The homepage of Attendance for Google Meet™.
Attendance for Google Meet™ was unfortunately a huge letdown.
It's a popular Google Meet attendance tracking extension, with over 40k users on the Chrome store.
I wasn't able to test it properly though — it immediately glitched out and didn't detect it was in a Google Meet call. I've attached a screenshot below.
This meant I couldn't trigger attendance tracking, unfortunately rendering the extension pretty useless.
The Attendance for Google Meet™ didn't detect when I entered a meeting, so I couldn't track attendance.
I probably got a bit unlucky here.
This extension seems to have decent reviews, so it must work for some people, but I think there are more reliable options available.
Given this extension was last updated in March 2022, I doubt these bugs will be getting fixed, so you may want to look elsewhere.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Editable attendance - You seem to be able to live-edit attendance in the extension, which could be handy for some. | Unreliable — The extension failed to detect when I entered a meeting, so I couldn't track attendance. |
Abandoned — The extension was last updated in March 2022, which tells me it's essentially abandoned. |
Another buggy and unmaintained extension, despite its popularity.
Rating: 3.9/5 ★★★☆☆ on the Chrome Web Store
The homepage of Attendance for Google Meet (second extension with that name).
Unfortunately, I ran into a similar problem trying the Attendance for Google Meet extension as I did with the previous extension.
It didn't work.
In this case, it seems like the extension was encountering an error when I tried to open its window within Google Meet.
This extension seems to have been designed for an old Google Meet version. Now that Google Meet has been updated, this extension is broken, and I couldn't record attendance.
And again, like the previous, this extension hasn't been updated in over 2 years. The last update was April 2023, so don't expect any bug fixes.
It's a shame because this extension seems to have solid features for classrooms & teachers, but I wasn't able to test them.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Classroom Features - This extension has handy features for managing classes and breakout rooms, which, unfortunately, I couldn't test. | Unreliable — The extension had errors when I tried to click it in a Google Meet meeting, stopping me from using it. |
Nice looking spreadsheet - If you can make this extension work, the spreadsheet export looks great, with handy color coding. | Not Updated — The extension was last updated in April 2023. |
Great local-only attendance tracking extension.

The homepage of MeetList, another Google Meet attendance tracker.
Finally, another working extension!
After the two previous attendance tracker extensions failed, MeetList was refreshingly straightforward to use. And it worked!
I just had to install the extension and join a meeting, and MeetList handled all the tracking.
Here's the attendance report from after the test meeting:
The attendance report from MeetList.
MeetList includes the following information in the attendance report:
MeetList also includes a spreadsheet export, similar to AttendList, which includes all the same info as the attendance report.
Unfortunately, MeetList's attendance report lacks some detail — it shows who joined and for how long, but it doesn't include any information on whether attendees left & rejoined the meeting.
Also, MeetList only records from when you join the meeting — If you join late, you won't get the full meeting attendance. And if you leave before the meeting ends, attendance tracking also stops.
Neither of these limitations are unreasonable, but they're both things that AttendList supports.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Ease of use - MeetList is easy to get started with. | On tracks when you're present — The extension can only record attendance when you're present in a meeting. |
Nails the basics - MeetList includes the basic info you need, like join time and total time present. | Ads & Limits — MeetList includes some advertising and limits for free users. |
Clunky and unreliable, but functional.
Rating: 2.8/5 ★★☆☆☆ on the Chrome Web Store
The homepage of Meet Attendance by Claycodes.
Despite the terrible reviews, this extension worked.
After a few minutes fiddling around, and rejoining a meeting a few times, I was able to download an attendance spreadsheet.
The process was very clunky. But, unlike other extensions I've tried, this one did actually work. Don't expect any improvements though (last updated April 2023).
I think there are better options for an attendance tracking extension, like AttendList and MeetList. Both do everything this extension does, and lots more. They're also much easier to use.
The extension window for Meet Attendance by Claycodes. It's a bit confusing.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Functional - It's not much, but it's better than some other extensions on this list. | Clunky — This extension is pretty confusing to setup and use. |
Unreliable — I didn't experience this, but many reviews say the extension records incorrect times for attendees. |
Solid extension without too many users.
Rating: 3.5/5 ★★★☆☆ on the Chrome Web Store
Attendance report generated by the Trackit extension.
Trackit is another local-only Google Meet attendance tracker.
It works quite well — you just install it, log in, and tracking happens automatically.
Trackit's attendance report only includes the basic info — who attended, when they first joined, and how long they were present. It's essentially quite similar to MeetList, with similar pros and cons.
One interesting feature is Trackit's support for in-person events. Trackit has an entire flow for scanning QR codes and registering for in-person events, which is a unique feature that no other extension on this list has.
Personally, my favorite thing about this extension was the recording indicator it displays in Google Meet when it's recording attendance:
The Trackit extension displays a recording indicator in Google Meet when it's tracking attendance.
This extension was last updated in May 2024, but it doesn't seem to be receiving any more updates.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Recording indicator - This was a nice touch, and made it clear that it was tracking attendance. | No more updates — This extension doesn't seem to be getting updated any further. |
Easy to get started - Trackit was easy to install and start using. | Lack of detail in report — The attendance report just includes the basic info: who joined, and for how long. |
Incompatible with modern browsers. Can't be installed.
Rating: 3.6/5 ★★★☆☆ on the Chrome Web Store
Meet Assistant is no longer compatible with Chrome since it hasn't been updated.
Meet Assistant hasn't been updated since 2021, and it's now incompatible with modern Chrome browsers.
It's a real shame! I was interested in Meet Assist since it had various interesting export settings and stored previous reports within the extension.
Unfortunately, I'll never know if Meet Assistant was good or not, since it's no longer possible to install the extension.
Attendance tracker designed for teachers.
Rating: 4.2/5 ★★★★☆ on the Chrome Web Store
Example of using Meet Attendance T.
Meet Attendance Tracker is aimed specifically towards teachers.
It let's you configure classes within the extension, and then let's you detect absentee students once you've generated a report.
While it's not the prettiest extension, it gets the job done, and the teacher-specific features are a big standout.
It's also been recently updated, receiving an update on April 7, 2025.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Education features - Includes a few unique features, like absentee detection, aimed at helping teachers. | Clunky interface — The reporting interface is a bit clunky and confusing. |
Recently updated - This extension has been recently updated (April 2025) |
There are plenty of Google Meet attendance trackers to choose from.
For most people though, AttendList is a great choice — it's simple, reliable, and free to start using.
Otherwise, there are plenty of other Google Meet attendance tracking extensions that you can pick from, each with different features and benefits.
